DonKing: When you entered CCC at the beginning did you think you would have a chance of winning?
Apheleon: Not really, when I signed up for the tournament, I had only played 1 or 2 CPMA games with some of my friends, and I just wanted to get some more experience, so I joined the registration list. I played the original promode when it was first released, but I never really got into it untill recently.

DonKing: Your matches vs rat were the best of the tournament, coming down to one frag, was that the most intense match you have ever played?
Apheleon: For an online 1v1 tournament, I would say so. I think I have experienced such intense games in some TDM games, and I also feel playing at the CPL was very fun and exiting, and I had the same feeling.

DonKing: What do you like about CPM as opposed to vq3?
Apheleon: The thing I like the most about CPM is the speed and air control. I never played qw or q2, so playing cpm is like a whole new game for me. I think the weapon switch time, and the ammount of custom maps also attracted me to play cpm. Also, the community is really nice. Normally when you play vq3, if its a close game or the person loses or something, he will probably be under an alias and whine about the game. In cpm the players seem to be more mature, not as many people use aliases, and people are just nicer and respect other players ect.

DonKing: What do you think about the Polish style of CPM?
Apheleon: I dont watch alot of demos, only the big name players and demos people recommend. I would say that the polish CPM style is very different. Just because they seem to have much more control over their movements, and it seems they have really mastered the aircontrol ect. I would also say that most of the polish demos I have seen are on lans, so of course they are always more intense and the player's aim is generally better.

DonKing: Is there anyone you would like to play in CPM that you haven't yet?
Apheleon: Id like to play xfoo with LPB connections, normally the pings are uneven. Id also like to lan with some of the polish players, they are quite amazing =]
|
DonKing: Since you have played both vq3 and CPM, is there anything you would like to say to anyone considering moving onto CPM?
Apheleon: Well, I started playing CPMA mostly because of my friend cm'Syn (former clanmate of mine). He hosted a CPMA server that I pinged good to, and we just played a lot of games and I started to really enjoy myself. With vq3, playing 1v1's online seemed more serious, and too many people were just playing to beat people, and not playing to further the community, or to have fun. I think the one reason I play cpma rather then normal quake is just because it is more fun, and the people never take it too serious, and they realize its just a game and they are there to have fun.

DonKing: What do you think the future of CPM holds?
Apheleon: Hopefully more tournaments such as CCC and Face-off will start to appear. I think that once the finals of the faceoff are held at the CPL, that the mod hopefully will get more recognition, and more people will realize that it is a real mod, and that people are taking it seriously. As for the mod, I like it how it is, if its not broken, dont fix it =]
|
DonKing: You recently began playing in the Clash of the Titans Invite only online tournament, how have you done so far and do you think you have a chance of winning it all?
Apheleon: As of now, I have won all my matches 3-0, with the exception of my rat game where I lost 1-2. I think I will do very well in my division. As for the ending of the tournament, I think it will be tough to predict. A lot of the vq3 players are just getting used to cpm, and are not really using any special CPMA features (bunny hopping, air control, ect) except for a few of them who have played cpm before. Most of them seem to be vq3 style + fast weapon switch. I hope for a top 3 finish in the tournament, but I do not plan on attending the CPL just to play final games, too much money for only a few cpma games, and I am not really interested in any of the other games at that CPL tournament, like qw, counter strike ect =(
|
DonKing: What do you consider your best map?
Apheleon: I think my best map for CPMA would probably be cpm1a. Probably because it's played the most in pickup games, and I have had the most experience on it. I also like how you can use different weapons in different situations, it gives the map a good replay value.

DonKing: What multiplayer games did you play before Quake3 if any?
Apheleon: I got my first PC about 14 months ago. For about 4 years before that I used Macs. My first multiplayer game was probably Duke Nukem 3D, which I just played around with my friends, and at the time, I was on 56K, so it never really worked right. A couple of years later I got a cable modem and started to play Unreal, I became quite good at the game, 1v1 and CTF. Unreal kinda died as UT and Quake3 were released. I played UT for probably 5 months while playing quake3 off and on for fun. A few months later I got a PC and I started to play quake3 seriously.

DonKing: What are your PC specifications?

DonKing: Anything else you would like to say?
Apheleon: Id like to give a shout to clan Snot Nosed Brats and Negative One and Hi Mom!!
