| DonKing: You have played QW for 3-4 years, aren't you bored yet? |
| [E]ParadokS: I guess I get a little bored from time to time. But then I play some quake3 and feel the urge to own someone... and then its fun playing QW again =) |
| DonKing: I know you do not have the best relationship with the FF members. I've seen them ban you from #ff for no obvious reason many times. Any idea why they do not like you? |
| [E]ParadokS: If you want to know why they hate me. Ask them :) |
| DonKing: Who are some of the players that you respect in the Quakeworld community? |
| [E]ParadokS: Zibbo, who made qizmo and has been active in the quake scene for as long as I can remember. He is a person that comes to mind when thinking of the quake scene. Then of course there is pietro from clan Flaming Fist, who is the best 4on4 team player I have seen in my quake career. I could probably mention 100 other "important" Quakers, but I believe those two profiles are to be remembered. |
| DonKing: What is your favorite QW demo without you in it? |
| [E]ParadokS: I do not have one. |
| DonKing: How about with you in it? |
| [E]ParadokS: 1on1 vs. pietro from j0n's league has to be my favorite. |
| DonKing: Who do you consider the best QW player past or present? |
| [E]ParadokS: I have to say pietro again, although I can beat him 1on1 I still think he is the best all-around player. |
| DonKing: I consider EA Venture one of the best QW players still active today. How do you think you would do against him on dm2, dm4 and dm6 on a LAN? |
| [E]ParadokS: hmm.. He is a very skilled player, but the best? I think we would play more or less even on dm4, despite my lack of dm4 skills. A little camping always does the trick when you want to get a decent score against a skilled dm4 player. He would probably win on dm2. I don't have the needed tactics or speed like him with his forward script and experience on that level. I would probably win 30-5 on dm6 like I did the last three times I've played him there :) |
| DonKing: Any QW players that you have not played but would like to? |
| [E]ParadokS: Since dm6 is the map I know best and consider the best duel map, I would like to play some talented dm6 players from Australia and USA. From Australia it would be fun playing Reload and from the states a game against DR|Punisher. I haven't played many games on USA servers because I get 130 ping. But the games I have played, DR|Punisher gave me the best dm6 challenge. ]km[-Skitter and def are also good players. |
| DonKing: Euthanasia is one of the best Euro QW clans, what makes you guys so good? |
| [E]ParadokS: Good players I guess. Practicing on a regular basis helps of course and a variation in nationalities is also a factor. It's nice to get different styles, tactics, ideas to the clan, and different nationalities helps with just that. |
| DonKing: How long do you think QW will be around? |
| [E]ParadokS: People said the end of QW was just around the Smackdown corner but it's still here :) |
| DonKing: You mentioned that you play q3, how do you like it and how does it compare to QW? |
| [E]ParadokS: When I say I play quake3, I mean I play quake3 on my local LAN with my two roommates from time to time. I don't play quake3 on the net and I probably won't start. I haven't played quake3 long enough to really know the differences. All I know is that you can't go on a killing rampage with a rocket launcher in q3. There is too little air control for me, the railgun is too much like q2, and the style of play is also too much like q2. |
| DonKing: Would you ever consider playing CPM? It's more like QW than any other game I've seen. |
| [E]ParadokS: I haven't played it, but if I want to play QW, I play QW, and not some clone. |
| DonKing: Will Euthanasia participate in Smackdown 2, which will hopefully start in January? |
| [E]ParadokS: The fact that Goljat will "convert" to Quake3 will not remove Euthanasia's passion for QuakeWorld. We will probably recruit a single member shortly. We will have more than enough to both practice a lot and participate in any upcoming leagues with our current lineup of: paradoks, pingvin, vana, hixen, gemma, skalman, and zorg. |
| DonKing: Euthanasia did a great job in the Smackdown tournament finals, winning 2 games. What did FF do right and Euthanasia do wrong in the other 3 matches? |
| [E]ParadokS: In a game with two such great teams, I believe it's the margins that count. LAN conditions, the spawns, and how stressed the players are. I think both E and FF played some great games on dm3. The fact that we won 1 and they won 2 does not mean it will go that way all the time. It could just as well have gone the other way. As for dm2, I spectated that game so I have no comment on it. |
| DonKing: Will you consider sending me some q3 demos for CHTV when you play? |
| [E]ParadokS: If you live to be a hundred maybe you will see a quake3 demo done by paradoks :) |
